These Pintrest writing challenges have made me realize that
I have written some fairly personal stuff on this blog. Some of which I’m not sure I could have
shared in person (excepting my close friends).
I am an introvert and this blog is as close as I can get to “putting
myself out there”. Don’t get me wrong, I
can talk to new people okay in some settings, but it can be difficult.
But I have to ask: Is letting all of my feelings out on this
blog cowardly? I don’t do well with
confrontation, which means that it can be hard to tell people how I really feel. I was an RA for two years and I would avoid
confrontation like the plague whenever possible. And I don't just mean the fighting kind of confrontation. For example, I do not hide the fact that I am probably the pickiest eater that most people will ever meet. BUT when I'm at the house of someone new for a meal and they ask me if I like something that they are currently preparing, I freeze up. I don't want to insult the person cooking or essentially tell them that they're wasting perfectly good food on me. It's not always a problem, except that a lot of people assume that everyone likes chicken so that's what they choose to make for new people. I don't like chicken in any form. Get that look off your face, some of us just don't like it. So do you see my problem here?
Or would it only be cowardly if I wrote this
blog anonymously? I mean, at least
people know it’s me who thinks and feels these things. THIS IS ALL SO CONFUSING. Can anyone else relate?
I don’t ever want to hurt anyone’s feelings or make someone
mad at me, but let’s be real, that is not possible. There is no worldly way to please
everyone. So, it’s decided. I will keep doing what I’m doing.
If you want to know more about me, stay tuned for this
week’s assignment on the Pintrest writing challenge – it’ll be up this Friday!
